Crushing Life for the Fun of it

Crushing Life for the Fun of it

I’m gonna switch things up today and talk about lifestyle. Specifically, having fun crushing life. Seekers come to Dragon and a Dream for money tips, but it is also a place for ramping up your personal growth and success.

Think about a day you had where “something” caused you to swell with triumph and joy. Fists pumped to the sky, or exclaiming aloud, or just beaming a smile to yourself because life went your way. These moments are fuel and full on glorious. They can be as little as someone’s aura lighting up when you say “hi” passing them on the sidewalk, or getting the day’s to-do list finished, or doing a workout that kept being put off. These moments can also be as massive as nailing a presentation that took months of preparation; winning a competition that took years of commitment and sacrifice; becoming financially free through steadfast vision and focus.

Master Your Destiny!

Guess what that “something” was creating such victory? You! It was you that brought the pieces together for that surge of euphoria. You mastered your body and mind long enough to focus on creating that opportunity and following through with it. Even the saying “hi” to another in passing example — it’s crazy difficult for people to muster that power!

It feels damn good to be crushing life. We transcend to an elevated state when we are proud of moves we make and feel in control of how our lives are playing out.

Why this is coming up now:

I bring this topic up because it is easy to fall into a sour rhythm by accident or through complacency.

For instance, this week, I had an experience illuminating that I had been veering away from happiness and fulfilment. Truth be told, I had forgotten the feeling of crushing life until I finally did have that surge of elation course through my veins.

Formerly, I had been plagued for a few weeks with overwhelming loads I was placing on myself. I was trying to fill every moment of my time with something that would increase my skills. There was no time for calm, peace, or true reflection. Even when I accomplished something, I had no time to soak in the victory or reflect on what I learned. Instead, I would hastily switch over to the next item. Then continue this pattern, attempting to finish the remaining tasks before night, so I may repeat the scramble upon waking.

Clearly, I had a huge problem: my list was too long to realistically get done most days. I would need to have no wasted time or interruption, and complete focus, which is not a manageable combination. When I did get a rare day completed, I felt the need to find something else to add on instead of coming up for breath. It was really affecting my soul. I was constantly on edge, stressed, and frustrated that no end seemed in sight.

In my conquest of growth I was actually stunting myself from being able to bloom.

Crushing life happens when you actively focus on what matters to you:

As a result of this constant overload, I decided to try cutting down the requirements of my days. I knew much of them were extra filler: they did not directly help me grow in my active pursuits. Instead, I could now focus on the few tasks bringing the most reward. The others can be incorporated as leisure activities to do if I feel like it with free time I create.

Activities that reap the highest reward are those that align most with our ambitions and dreams. For instance, I knew I needed to refocus and figure out my priorities. A quote I refer to during personal management and reflection is “if you have more than three priorities, you have no priorities.” I’ve consistently found following this heralds sure success. When I sat down and wrote 1), 2), 3) in a line, I easily filled 1) Running 2) Blog, but I was torn on a third. I’ve been trying to improve as a public speaker because I like it and hope to eventually become a professional. I also deeply love fitness in general; being able to utilise my body in new ways and grow in strength; reach new performance peaks. I couldn’t decide quickly which to make the third, so I opted to leave it at two!*

Rejoice in simplicity:

This has been a great call. Now I only have two subjects to plan my routine around. Consequently, having my priorities clearly stated changes my mindset to only stress about activities that will advance those passions.

Furthermore, the other time in my day becomes free leisure time to do whatever I want, instead of labouring through an endless list of practices. I still may get through a bunch of activities, the difference is there’s no pressure to do them.

Previously, I berated myself for going outside of my to-do list. Now, If I want to go sit outside and chill for an hour doing nothing, that’s great and refreshing. Or, if I want to watch a couple informative or inspirational YouTube videos throughout the day, I will. As long as I’m allocating time towards my priorities, the rest of the day is mine to relax.

Hence, I have opened up to more freedom and happiness, yet focus as well. Where I was previously scattered across a web of activities with varying relevance to my ambitions, I am now zoned in on acts that directly affect my true pursuits.

A few days ago I found proof I’m back on the right track now crushing life. Finishing a run, I was considering the last couple days. Suddenly, I got a big hit of adrenaline realising I had crushed tasks consecutively each day that relate directly to my chosen paths. As a bonus, this run was my final tasks of the present day; afterwards, I could just relax the night away! I beamed a huge smile and let out a whoop from the excitement! This emotional surge of rapture confirmed I was back in control doing what makes me happy and gets me where I want to be.

Crushing life is fun:

Thankfully, I’m now in such a better head space. Mentally, only a few actions each day are essential for my chosen success; therefore, when managed properly, there can still be ample leisure time. Finally, I am having fun again with a clear vision of where I want to create success, and going for it!

In conclusion, we must keep sight of our vision or goal, and take a step towards it each day. Pick something to work towards that you love or want to excel in. Next, identify the key milestones or skills required. Finally, start crushing life for some fun! Having a direction or goal and seeing progress as you hunt it is the truest way to happiness and satisfaction.

Godspeed to the days you exclaim “I’m crushing it!”

*Realistically, Nicole is a top priority but in a relationship way. As such, it’s advantageous to limit my personal pursuits to two.
